Brendah’s Story: A Journey of Hope and Resilience
Brendah lost her father at the tender age of 14. Struggling with school fees, she was forced to drop out of school by the time she turned 16. Hoping for a better future, she was brought to Kampala by an aunt who promised to help her return to school. Sadly, that promise was never fulfilled. Instead, Brendah spent two years at her aunt’s home with no access to education and no clear path forward.
At 18, determined to change her situation, Brendah made the difficult decision to leave her aunt’s home in search of work. With only limited education, her immediate option was to work as a housemaid earning just $15 a month, barely enough to cover her basic needs, let alone save for future education or training.
Now 19, Brendah is full of determination and hope. She aspires to build a better life not just for herself, but also for her ailing mother back in the village. She wishes to join the La’ Marc Foundation’s tailoring program, where she can gain valuable skills in fashion and design. Her dream is to open her own tailoring shop, become self-reliant, and support her family with dignity.
With your support, Brendah can transform her life and become an inspiring example of what resilience and opportunity can achieve.
